Hi Everyone,

Im pretty new to fossicking, but been fascinated with minerals for a long time and decided its time to try and find some of my own specimens now.
I have panned for gold a couple of times at O'allens Ford but only managed to recover a few flecks but had a great time doing it.
Im in wollongong and use my metal detector at the beach fairly reguarly with a couple of mates, to my dismay no treasure to be found yet except all the coins people drop
Hope to talk to you all and learn from you guys in the future.

Welcome to the forum Matt. Oallen can certainly be a testing location, but it's a great area to practice honing those panning skills. There's some great minerals and semi precious stones in your area ....especially in the Kangaroo Valley region, and I'm sure you'll enjoy some of the specimens the place has to offer.

Hope the forum members can be of some help in your endeavors to expand your hobby, and there's certainly a wealth of information within the threads to fill in those rainy days.
