Hey all new member

[Shock n awe prospecting]

Hi all I'm a new member to this site and to the whole post thing, but I have been panning and am a avid metal detectorist normally I find bottle tops, ring pulls, scrap metal but every now and again I get lucky and find a coin or two and fishing sinkers.
I've never found gold with my pan or the detector but do want to I've heard that its addictive. Iam wanting to go to Walhalla and pan and use the detector but not sure where to go when to go and if there's any areas where your not allowed to mine/prospect if someone could point me in the right direction and give me some pointers that would be fantastic thanks all and good luck in your ventures
