Hi all,

Found this copper button at Windeyer on an old gold field. There is no writing front or back.

Its an anchor with some type of rising sun at the top. Google has failed me! Any ideas?

Cheers

The button belongs to P&O liners, which became P&O Orient Line, before changing to P&O cruises in the 60's. They had an Australian Govt. Mail contract at the turn of the 20 century, so the button might be from around the time of WW1. The button maker should be Miller Rayner & Haysom Ltd. :)

Thanks Goldpick,

Looks like your on the money. I cant find a pic of the exact button, but that manufacturer produces the exact same anchor.

Cheers

Craig
