Hi My Name is john, im getting ready for retirement and dont want to die in the house, so am getting set up to start traveling and get into prospecting, i have absolutely no experience so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi John,.... just take a punt on it and open that door, take a step outside and a big draught of fresh air, that's the start of it(go on it won't kill ya). (an if it does it'll be a quiet and quick out doorsy type death),.... if you've survived that bit John then all the rest will just be a gentle breeze,... now don't blow your whole retirement fund on a big expedition with blaring trumpets and a huge entourage of helpers,... just quietly go about the adventure with the best gear you can afford yourself(with just a little bit in the beginning) till you know it's the life for you,... just incase it's bingo and cards that your better suited to or indoor bowls, or book reading and flower arrangements,... if it turns out that the great outdoors is for you, then,.... A big hearty welcome to PA for the Irish to ya.

Hi John, welcome to this forum.

There is a world of great info in here. Just start reading.

Find a prospecting or fossicking club where you can get to, and go to their meetings. Make friends.

I suggest you start small and simple... It is too easy to spend heaps and then lose interest. It's much more sensible to buy (or even borrow) a plastic gold pan and learn to use it. (Get a friend to show you, or watch multiple demo videos on Youtube.)

Cheers,

David
