g'day, i am a novice/newbie to the prospect game. For the last few years have pondered the thought of chasing gold but that was about it!
So im a 35 year old single male, i have just spent the last 2 years in NT working/fishing(more so working) what started out as trip across the top end after living in townsville for half of my life only lasted 10 weeks in the gulf before scoring my last job in which i only wanted for a few weeks to get more fuel money, i ended up staying there 20 months!! So 2weeks ago i told my boss i was leaving to pursue something totally different and i am currently now at the olds place in albury.
I thought prospecting would really suit me as i love being in the bush and the thought of maybe just maybe finding enough yellow stuff to fund more travels gets me a little excited. i have travelled nth qld a fair bit for the love of fishing a camping and 4wding and always wanted to head over to the west so thats next on the agenda. I just purchased a new 5000 from Bendigo gold and now keen to learn how to master it! Its a little daughting but i am up for the challenge. So i apoligise now for any novice questions i may ask, but i guess you gotta start somewhere and i look forward to chatting with all.

chow for now Risky

Welcome to the forum Risky. Sometimes you gotta take a risk in life to be successful, but if gold hunting is on the agenda that purchase of a 5000 is as good a calculated risk you can get.

The other ingredient necessary in the formula is "Luck" and when you first start out it plays the major role. As experience and research are added the reliance on luck diminishes slightly, as the ability to make your own luck can swing the scales in your favor.

Joining the forum will certainly help reduce the learning curve and get you off on the right foot.

Best of luck and hope the adventure is long lasting.

Cheers Wal.
