Have just started detecting in the last six months after getting interested mainly from my younger years when the old man used to take me out panning. Have had quite a few years off prospecting getting interested in other pursuits. Fishing mainly,wish I had have re discovered detecting way earlier as there is nothing better than the expectation of digging so much trash and then see the color of yellow.

Welcome aboard Bjay. Your story sounds similar to mine, albeit I have been gold detecting since the 2100 came out. And don,t panic you will get that "so much trash" feeling over and over
