hey me and my partner have been detecting for 3 months now, mainly beaches and just started on park areas..
I've Just joined and im new to Detecting, just bought a Garret AT Gold after using a x-terra70, love the AT Gold, really picks out targets among iron and trash,
Live in Sydney near the city and really worried on where I search, i've seen many posts about a NSW fossicking Permit but not sure what site its available on? :D
Thanks if anyone can help

Welcome to the forum. No permit needed mate, if you want to detect in State Forests you need a State Forest permit, but anywhere else no permit is needed.

Checkout the National Parks website http://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/parks, otherwise you could use something like Atlas http://www.atlas.nsw.gov.au/public/nsw/home/map/national-parks.html, you may have to select the "Change Map" option to Environment > National Parks.

Only the sections outlined in green (see link) is required for an individual fossicking permit https://www.prospectingaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3048. The current application form is generic so some of the fields are non-applicable for the type of permit you require. The NSW Forestry Cooperation are currently in the process of simplifying the application process and should have their new online system up and running very soon.
