Looks like there are a few of us here from the Hunter Valley
My wife and I are generally not after the 'yellow' but more the gem stones.
We normally have a yearly trip out to Lightning Ridge in search of opal and have had some success on the dumps.
Also have been up around Inverell after sapphires and quartz crystals
Lately I have started to pan and try to get some gold but as others have said, not much luck around the hunter.
