Hello guys. I am absolutely brand new to prospecting. My partner David showed me how to pan last month and bought me a pan recently. I LOVE it... think I have gold fever!! Have been watching WalnLiz YouTube videos... mostly laughing, but learning a little bit too. David has built his own high banker this month and it's been a lot of fun collecting flakes of gold from it, though I prefer the peace and quiet of panning. Nice to meet you all on this forum. Hi and welcome to PA, WalnLiz are great people and you can learn a lot from them as i have, hope you find a heap of gold to show us all, we love seeing peoples finds here

I wish I could adopt Wal & Liz for a weekend or two to come with me and learn from!! I think I'd have sore ribs from laughing at Liz's antics. I've put a photo of somea pan with our finds on the alluvial gold 'show and tell' page. Jo

i haven't met them in person yet but really hope to one day on the fields, i love how excited she gets with their finds and Wal is such a wealth of knowledge

Thanks for the welcomes... this forum does have some friendly folks here, and as a knowing nothing newbie I appreciate that.

Conned my kids ( aged 10, 10 & 11) to go out again yesterday.. told them we were going bush walking lol. Little did they know it was up a creek! Found some gold yesterday at a different spot- just panning, and then conned the kids again this afternoon by buying a couple of cheapie metal detectors from Aldi- they tested them out in a park and found $2 and $1 straight up and even excited about finding bottle tops- so took David's high banker back to yesterdays spot for some more of the shiny stuff- not a bad effort for a couple of hours running there. Will post photos after I've re sized them on the show n tell page.
