My name is Peter, I have been a member since December.
Have been panning down @ Oallen, with small amount of colour but would like to go to other places.
Have just purchased a highbanker, just need to buy a decent pump and hoses.
Will update more about myself when I learn how to do that.
Happy Days.

Hello Twapster,
hope to head out with the banker in the coming weeks when I get the pump.
will post photos then.

Welcome Peter, there are a lot of Peters on this forum. I am in Nowra as well so hope to catch you around here sometime

John

I bought the following pump a few days ago:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1-5-inch.../251372481449?pt=AU_Pumps&hash=item3a86f7aba9

While its not a beast, it just finished its job pumping a mates 120000 litre pool. 3.3m at the deep end and was just able to pump from bottom of the pool to the run off (pretty close to 4m headroom) so did what it said it would. 12000 litres per hour is the spec. My guess is that its the lowest spec required for a banker to get some good flow (about 200lpm). At the price I paid its a throw away but so far very happy with her, shes done about 12 hours work over the last 3 days and just gave her an oil change after that run in. If i'm cashed up at some point ill upgrade to the WX15 Honda, but nice to have my little toy for now. Didn't skip a beat and started 1st or 2nd pull every time. Not much play in the acceleration, seemed choke was a better regulator. May play with it to see if tuning from factory settings changes that. Just my 2 cents

Peter

Twapster,
Went to the local Honda shop today, wanted to have a look at the WX15 but they did not have one on hand and it is @ $819, out of my price range for now. They did have a WX10 on show, was amazed at how light this little one was.
Am going to follow your post, a trip to Rockdale next week to pick up a pump to suit the needs of the banker.
Thanks for the heads up.

Peter.
Happy days.

Sounds like you have a good pump, I am running a walbanker on a significant angle with about 150 lpm, I will catch about 90% of gold, sapphires, Iron stone slips a bit, when going for gold I run more angle on the banker, and less water presure, the best invention since the light globe, it is a science to run a banker and wal has got it perfect

shake the banker always helps clean the light stuff off the riffles, so the heavies have room to drop

Yep emailed the guy.....asked him if he was open....no probs so drove there...it was a storage facility.....when I asked for him they called his mobile and he was there in 30 seconds. Obviously operating a smart little import business. Im happy to give that sort of bloke my money!

John, I have got an AT PRO, recently acquired. Maybe we could hook up and you could give me some pointers about detecting?

Peter.
Happy days.
