If you live in SA and Vic especially, and are thinking of heading out detecting etc over the next few days keep hydrated folks. It's going to be a real stinker out there.

Yep, i was supposed to go camping/fishing down the Glenelg River but i pulled the pin, too hot and too dangerous to be out in this weather if you don't have to be imo.

Was meant to be 37 at Ballarat today, not sure what it got too though, 39 tomorrow on the BOM site.
Warming up a little for Ballarat, was hotter where I lived up in Mildura & Corryong (both Vic) so summer down here is a bit better.

I draw the line at 40c
As much as i love getting out prospecting as much as i can 40c is too dangerous and it cant be good on the detectors.

I go through about a litre an hour in 35+ heat and like to detect for 5-8 hours at a time.
Thats bloody heavy to carry when your backpacking through the bush alone.
I have thought about burying water containers at certain locations where i detect just in case.

But in this heat theres also the fire danger and the last place you want to be is in the middle of the bush in the path of a fire unless you have a dam to hide in or a deep shaft....but then your still going to lose your Oxygen if a fire passes over.

Probably best just to stay home lol

It's been too hot to do anything! I have had the trouble maker dog inside with me the past 4 days and we are both going crazy! What a shot time to have annual leave

I was out in Blackwood today 39 and it wasn't fun, man I was detecting a creek no breeze it was a stinker not to mention the climb out, made it home to have a beer and swim.

Just arrived at inverlock beautiful sea breeze about 25 or 26 lovely after a stinker in the shed.

My Godson is working this week on Welbourn Hill station between Marla and Oodnadatta SA.
Recon she'd be warm out there mate!
