OOOOOnooooooo not again, time to wash my clothes in bushmans and neem oil
I thought the buggers the other night were bats they were that big

We have a severe problem in the area B5MECH and myself live, they are literally in every area of scrub and bush, sometimes in your yards, they can carry Lyme disease like illnesses and also people in our area (or the entire East Coast region of NSW) can develop a red meat meat allergy after being bitten due to a protein called Alpha-gal which the ticks get from feeding on marsupials such as Bandicoots.

Here's a great article on it.

Also the ticks can kill pets and maybe even small children. Pets die every year in this area from ticks. :(

I got mauled a couple of weeks back. My left hand was bitten at least 8,9 times and my right at least 6 times, i was only out for a couple of hrs and ever since i been getting body aches, feeling fatigued and now have a flu, i hope i haven't got any of those viruses that you mentioned Heatho

The mozzies down in the SE of Oz are pretty damned bad, moreso than usual, especially with so much surface water still lying around. Not your usual mozzies either, these manage to plunge through a couple layers of clothing, and pack a hefty bite for such a small insect. Even though it is starting to heat up a bit, I prefer to cop a bit of sweat being fully covered up than be lunch for the blood suckers. :)

Fair bit of good info there, with all the rain we have all had we are going to get all sorts of bugs invading us. time to get the Cislin out and spray inside and outside of my house. I recon the snakes are going to abundent too plus the mice after a good harvest. Spiders everywhere already. Cover up.

Doesn't sound good mate, you are describing classic ross river symptoms. I contracted it 30 odd years ago when shearing around Wilcannia, the symptoms have stayed with me ever since, it has now progressed to rheumatoid. I currently take 40 to 50 pills a week and am about to start biological treatment. Hope it's not for your sake.

If you don't feel better soon mate, get a blood test. Though there is not that much that can be done for viruses, you just need to ride out the symptoms. Problem is you can get subsequent attacks of symptoms years later from RRV and BFV. Still it's good to know if you have it or not if you're crook.

See come up north and you will get your Brains sucked out
