Hello all,

On the 27th of September, I will be coming down to Victoria with my boy. From the Illawarra it should take about 6 hours to get to the border give or take an hour.
BJ is to play AFL with the Sydney Swans Academy against a team AFL draft stars @ Sandringham. BJ will play on the 2nd of October.

So, before that date and after, I am thinking why not make a week of it.
For the week, I want to have an itinerary besides doing AFL.
If there are any members of the forum that can suggest places to go, stay or just have me call in and show me a place to find the colour I am willing to add these. I am planning to leave on 27th and drive down the Hume highway. If there are places not more than 1 hour off the Hume, I am happy to add.
I will not be HB, only sluicing and panning. I don't mind if we have to hike in to a spot. (not too far).

So it would be great if I could hear from some members for this trip and I will slap some venues together.

Peter.

I have a trip planned to go up the hume at some point to: Yackandandah, Wee Jasper, Beechworth, Eldorado, Mansfield and Yarck. Well, that is in the order if you are coming down the hume from the north. These mostly are gold and gemstone location I am yet to check out, post us any pics if you get to any of these places :) There's heaps of info online about all of these places and their secrets.

Adelong, the creek runs thru town and you can get good colour right behind the main street. Safe travels

Hey all,
Adelong will be a stopover on the way down and back.
Can anyone suggest another place along the Hume highway?

Peter.

Just, head down Woolshed Rd and there are heaps of places very easy to get to. The gold is very fine and the black sand will drive you nuts but you are guaranteed to find some.
Make sure you stop over at Beechworth. Beautiful town with lots of gold history.
