Hi All

We've wandered into Halls Creek and want to wave our wand [after 18 months in non detecting environment]. Would greatly appreciate catching up with locals who would be happy to guide us in getting the most out of Halls Creek experience. Not the best time of year, we realise, but we're keen:)

Have a Minelab 5000, only limited experience around the NT, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Robyn & Paul

Be very carefull out there now. The snakes will be in abundance and are very poisonous. We have spent plenty time up there in all parts of year.
You have to be really keen this time of the year. As per previous post a PLB would be recomended and plenty water a must. Going out with others is best and safest.
good luck on your beeping TG

Thanks for getting back to us Nightjar & travelergold. We will be very careful and always travel with food & water.

After spending the last 4 years in areas where the days are around 40 degree heat we're more inclined to detect early morning or we were going to try evenings, but given the advice about snakes, maybe will rethink that:) It is so nice detecting when the ground is wet & easy to turn, so that offsets the heat from later in the day. Our objective is more about getting out there and enjoying the countryside, and hopefully finding that 'goldy bit'.

Hopefully, someone in/around Halls Creek can offer some hands on assistance:)

Cheers

Robyn & Paul

PS: Hate to ask, but what is a PLB 8)
