Gundaroo is it worth a look

G'day everyone

I'm very new to the forum and also new to detecting. Just wondering if gundaroo is worth a look , and if anyone has had any luck that way. Gundaroo was an old gold town so though it might be worth a detect, my old man has a few acres out that way with lots of quartz, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks toot

Don't know the place, but mate, if it was an old gold town, has plenty of quartz, I'd say definitely worth a swing. Don't know the place but," Nothing ventured, nothing gained", so they say.

Try down in to bottom of any steep gullies first and work you way up the sides. particularly in and below any quartz seams you come across.

Just check on the permits you require first, that way, if you search in allowed areas or have permission from owners / lease holders, you will have legal rights to your finds.

Not sure about the detecting but there is Alluvial gold along the Yass river
