Hiya all, I don't have a lot of time and haven't searched all the topics but my quick question is this:

Anyone have knowledge of any detecting instrument that would be able to locate gold or other precious metal deposits several feet down on a bench?

We have many acres just above a creek with many outcrops suggesting a possible good find below.

This area is a creek that has worn down through many millions of years and ice ages ...with evidence of a lotta crushing going on. 8)

Hi! oh yes, done me homework and each claim on either side is producing nuggets. Five claims down river from us is a claim that pulled in over fourteen thousand grams. Mine files suggest bench deposits...hence why i am looking at that next option. The sample sent to Vancouver today has a lot of gold and possibly platinum in it.

Have you done any testing of the dirt in the area of the creek and is there any history of gold in the area ?
That would be a quick indication of what potential is in your area.

garret has that big coil thing that goes really deep on big targets. :)

I take it the gold sample came from the bench so you know there's gold in it. To define where and how much gold is in it you really got to drill and sample. You could hire a motorised hand auger and sample to a metre but ultimately you want to go to bedrock.

Just noticed you posted in garrett, well use a garrett pan ;) If you just want to find nuggets to a couple of feet then use a top of the line metal detector but since you are chasing a deposit then drill test holes and sample.
