just going through family history and came across picture of my great grandfather and mate that came across gold out near home.it says he found 41 ounces one day,but gave it up to skin rabbits as rabbit skins were worth more than gold back then.

Good Story Steve, best you go & find their spot. :D

To post a picture, just click the "Image" button above the text box.
Select the picture & click upload, then a few seconds later the link pops up & you click ok

No sorry I tried to do it and I cant do it . I can email it or sms it . steve

I think the spot is on private property so what should I do I mite need some help I think I have the exact location. and there is a good creek there. steve

Imagine finding that much these days and giving it up to skin rabbits  Mate sounds like a good spot indeed, keep that one under your hat for sure. Gold does funny things to some people. And by funny I mean evil.

Steve try right clicking the file (image) & hit 'edit'. Generally it will open in paint.

To get my images within accepted size I resize them & save as a Jpeg file.

dont post here about the location.

do some study and reading about highbankers and sluices on this forum , watch some youtube videos of prospecting / detecting for gold and learn about the different ways to recover it.

also search here for posts about "Loaming"

If its on private property you might be a very lucky guy , its possible nobody has searched there for gold in the last 80 years and these days we have metal detectors which they didnt have back in their day

you can buy one from $ 800 up to $6500 or rent one for $ 120 per day roughly

if you have any more questions just ask here , dont be shy coz all of us learn from the answers

Thank you for the information I have a gpx 5000 I've had it for about 3 months and still learning thank u. Steve

Would love to see the old photo if you ever got it up.
As foe the location, like the others have said keep it to yourself, try to approach the current owners for permission to prospect. Sounds like it could be worth while.

Steve do u want me to upload the photos for you? I will give you my email address & if you send them to me I will either upload them for you or resize them for you & email them back.

I sent you an email too offering to help Steve, but message bounced back
