Hi all. Does anyone care to share their settings for GPX 5000 used in conjunction with Nugget finder evolution coils. Maybe small gold settings and deep gold settings. I have a 12" round and a 17 x 13". Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

What settings are you using now? The issue with giving settings is what might suit one area could very well work for you but they may not be ideal for your area/conditions or even suit you. There are no magic small gold or deep gold settings to suit all.
Your best bet would be to start in FP & adjust as required. With the new coils most seem to find running with the gain (rx) lower than normal + adjusting stabiliser to suit is working.
Understanding your area of interest/conditions & also the GPX timings + other settings is something that a fair amount of time needs to be spent on in order to get the best out of them for you.
Some good info here:

The only difference to the above advice I would make is where it says "In general, always start with the Normal timing. If the detector is stable and quiet, try timings on the left" For most Australian conditions I would recommend (with the GPX5000) starting with the Fine Gold timing then try Normal etc. if conditions & stability allow. I don't know that Normal is used much, if at all, with the new type mono coils?
With the new type coils & most Australian conditions it would probably be more likely that Fine Gold with a lower gain/stab will be ok or you may find that you'll be looking to timings on the right of Fine Gold on the chart i.e. enhance, sensitive smooth. It's all very area & current conditions dependant.

HI mbasko. The settings i use are as follows. I live in NQ and I do believe the ground is highly mineralised.
Fixed
Mono
Special
General

special - fine
motion - very slow
audio - quiet
audio tone - 63
tracking - slow

I am new to detecting so I havent strayed far from these settings that were given to me by someone else. The machine runs nice and quiet with these settings and I have found gold. I'm happy with the way the macine is performing (i think as i dont have a lot of experience). I guess I am wondering if there is anything I am missing. Cheers.

With 17x13evo on my5000 I found out that 95-98% of the time the best timing is Fine gold and close to FP. Normal timing seems to be a big jump back and always too chatterisch, Enhance on the other hand doesn't look like doing much favor and quieting it if Fine to "noisy".So I'm basically just jumping between Fine and if too unstable then switching to Sens smooth. My two cents, but I'm beginner too.Lot's to learn.

what type off work do you do has it effect you hearing at all ,I only ask this as most older people have some kind of hearing problems ,so running the audio tone at 63 can create a problem . I have hearing troubles and use audio tone at 42 I find that's good for me .
What rx ,stab, target vol signal and vol limit I would run the tracking in medium regards john :)
