This afternoon my boy and I went to Warrandyte for a bit of a scratch. We only took couple of pans, AM Boss, yabby pump, shovel, bucket and a bucket sieve. When we arrived at Andersons creek I though this area has been worked to death. Holes and tailings everywhere. We put on our waders and walked up the creek, found a good spot and set up the sluice.
I proceeded to feed the sluice with the yabby pump and we have processed only about 2 or 3 buckets worth of material.
When we cleaned out the sluice we have found 5 specks and a nice picker.
So if you wondering if there is gold in Warrandyte check the picture below.

Thanks to this forum and all of your advice we now find gold every single time we go out. Thanks guys. :)

Excellent to hear Beagles! No need to drive for hours to get some colour hey - nice!

The riffles look to be clearing alright - photos can be deceiving hey...

That's a nice looking picker :D . Well done

Great looking spot you got there Beags, with that sort of scenery any gold would be a bonus. Good luck on the next trip out.

Cheers Wal.

Great result guys.
Picture may be deceiving but water flow looks to be a bit slow?
Guess that's irrelevant you got the results, great,
Cheers Tom

It looks that way but I build a bigger wall around the intake of the sluice and it worked fine. It did take a bit of fiddling around but the boss worked really well. I think this is a really good piece of kit. It took about 20 seconds to clean out. So easy anyone can do it, even me.

Not a nugget but still I cant believe we found anything. You should see the place, it has been worked to death.

Deano looks like his put in the hard yards. haha

Yeah, you taught him well. LOL He forgot his chair though. :D To his defense he had a big night last night partying but in spite of that i didn't have to twist his arm to come with me. I think he caught the feaver from me. Is that wrong?

Meant to ask, did the picker make its way into the riffles or was it found, as some seem to do, on the 'feed' tray of the sluice ?
To date only found very fine (flour) and flaky bits in my riffles, not yet lucky enough yo have trapped a picker in the AM (so far).
Cheers Tom

Tom, I saw the picker first in the feed tray. My son tryed to remove it but as soon as he put his finger in there it disturbed the flow and the picker went in to the riffles. Once I had the sluice running properly it had 2"-3" of water going through it. I was confident we will find it in the clean out so I just kept feeding the sluice.
