Currently keeping swmbo happy with a getaway to the Clare Valley in SA.
Were staying in a cosy B&B in an old heritage town, so Ive been able to just stroll around in the local area and pick a likely spot.
Heres todays finds, using the Nokta Simplex with my new 9x5 sniper.... very impressed with it.

Really nice finds OzzieAu.What do you think the leafy item above the spigot is?

I know your ploy. Take care of swmbo this week so you can get to the Vic PA camp next week.
Nice finds, though Im surprised youre detecting when away with swmbo. Does she join you in detecting?
Enjoy the rest of the trip.

Eldorado... Im not sure about that leafy doo flicky thing, its solid brass, so a decorative piece off some sort of ornament.

Andy... you got it mate... happy wife, happy life. :Y: :present: Sue just chills out while I go off for a few hours detecting, seems to suit both of us just fine. :)

Any way heres day 2s finds.

Theres not much on hand here to clean them up, except to scratch the surface dirt off with a dry twig and steel wool from the kitchen.
These have had the basic scratch and rub...happy with the doggy tag :perfect:

Anyone know what this might be? Not sure till I can give it a good clean, seems to be brass/copper.

Finding some good older gear from the Clare region, 1849 is getting back there. Nice 1890-1891 doggie tag too. That decorative piece might be hair related, should clean up well. :Y:

Well, 3rd. and last day today. Got out for a final swing after getting Sue brekky in bed ;) you gotta do what you gotta do. :coffee:
Anyhow just turned up the usual bits and pieces and one cracker of a button. I wasnt sure what it was till I got the crud off back at base.

I just scratched the surface at this location, so Ill definately be returning in the winter when the ground is friendlier for detecting. It is so dry and baked, I needed my goldfields pick for target retrieval... :pickshovel:
