Goldpick
Chris Johnson
After seeing the previous thread on breaking open some quartz, I thought I'd have a go at breaking up a large specimen of quartz with a few bits of gold on the outside that's been sitting on my shelf for a few years now.
What a cracker inside, gold all through the quartz in small ferruginous cavities (crystalline gold), plus some free gold in the actual quartz itself. As you can see, there is also some galena occuring in the quartz as well, sometimes there is also chalcopyrite and rare bornite too. I should dolly it up, but I think it looks better in its natural state.
