Im from Melbourne Sth east suburbs , 43 yrs old married with 2 kids.
I sail during summer and looking at doing some detecting during the colder months.
Have been out a couple of times near Avoca and Maryborough found one small nugget. Also lots of buckshot and a fishing sinker which I swore was gold until the last second hahaha. It was quite deep down as well.
I am loaning a 4000 from a work buddy who doesnt use it anymore, and maybe thinking of buying a 4500 or a 5000.
Would like to head out with anyone who is happy to have me tag along with them. Would be great to learn how to use the detector properly and just enjoy being outdoors.
