G'day
just joined the forum as my wife and I have recently decided we are going to take some time off and travel.
Our kids are old enough to take care of them selves and we want to spend some time together touring around and maybe doing some fossicking.
We have a friend that is a fossicker and after spending the day helping him we have been bitten..
No idea how to start were to start or what to start with, so I hope this forum can at least help us get an idea and point us in the right direction. :)
cheers

:)

Hi nucopia, welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of prospecting and fossicking. Not sure which state you're from? Good place to start is to check out the state regulations as they differ a fair bit from state to state. You can find a lot of helpful info about that and all aspects of our hobby right here on the forum. And of course don't be afraid to ask any questions at all. We're a friendly helpful bunch. :)

Thanks guys
Im in NSW. Bonnells Bay. Down loaded the NSW regs in PDF to read over.
Only spent a day helping a mate who has a lot of experience fossicking . He was digging in a dry creek bed and running the dirt through a sluice with a Solar panel driven 12v water pump and recycled water that was out western NSW.
But it was enough to get my wife and i interested.
i have no idea what equipment we need to start off with, was thinking maybe to just keep reading the forum posts and gathering info for later when we decide to hit the road and try our luck.
Cheers
