G'day all. I've been toying with the idea of getting into metal detecting for some time and finally decided to take the plunge. I bought myself an Equinox 800 and Pro-Find 35 for Christmas primarily to hunt for old coins locally and to do some beach hunting when the opportunity presents itself.

Took it out today for a test run to help a friend locate a missing item in a local paddock (with appropriate permission of course). Only had time for a quick look but found the missing item and a 1952 Penny for good measure. Ill be heading back to that site again once I get my head around all the settings and functions in order to tweak it a bit as I was getting readings all up and down the scale.

Welcome to the forum Dave and also your new found life style be careful as it can be addictive and you have a great little detector there in the nox 800 so get out there and swing that coil.
