Been having a bit of a read through the various forums and I think I'm gonna like it, wish I had joined up sooner.
Based in Townsville, I have been prospecting for about 7 years now. Didn't see sweet FA yellow for the first 12 months but now I'm getting a little better at it. Still looking for the elusive chunky stuff in NQ but i have seen some 1g/pan pockets of the fine stuff every now and then so I consider myself pretty lucky on that front. Nothing makes you feel all warm inside like watching a huge trail of gold reveal itself in the pan.
I'm usually by myself and have only ever had a dig with a fellow prospector twice but both times I walked away with great new knowledge and my ability to find gold got better. I'm not up north at the moment but if anybody local wants to have a go sometime, feel free to hit me up.
I am always happy to share my knowledge with anybody who shares my love of the yellow, as far as I am concerned there is plenty of gold to go around.
