Hello all, hope you started the new year well.

I'm a member of the Bundaberg Gem Club. Into Lapidary, Faceting and Silver work. I do a bit of fossicking for gems and agates, so I figured I might as well hunt for the yellow as well rather than stepping over it. I bought a Gold Monster a week ago and I'm in the process of building a high banker.

I have a question, where would the nearest goldfields be to me? Is there anyone in the area that can show me some tips? I see Mt Perry and Mt Rawdon are nearby, but no sign of a public fossicking area.

Welcome big fella. I have recently acquired a gm1000 and although I haven't found gold I have found bits of junk at the beach (11 bottle tops, a phillips head screw and an unused condom in a foil pack) , I have just gained permission from a land holder nearby to check out an old abandoned mine not too far away so I am looking forward to my first outing to it, when the bl**dy rain stops.
