Hi all, Wow what a great and informative forum!
Im from Adelaide, South Oz and go 4x4ing in The Flinders Ranges quite a lot, while we are up there we have a go at prospecting, I bought 2 metal detectors (Garrett & Fisher) and we look in the dry river and creek beds, not found any gold as yet, but it is good fun finding other relics from time gone by, so now I'm interested in making a power sluice with 12v bilge pump and a bucket of water, power isnt a problem as I have a 160watt solar panel, and it keeps the 105a/h battery topped up.
I must admit, there are quite alot of ideas on this forum about diy sluices, the hardest part is deciding what design to go with...... Im a newbie at prospecting, and where we go is on private land and has some very interesting rock formations with a lot of quartz in them, so Im hoping there "must" be some gold around there, if not, its always good fun looking.
