Hi All, :)
Any one have a photo of the matting area of one of these sluices. ?
I have some one who has lost the grate over the top of the matting.
Greatly appreciated. :) :)

I had one of those years ago. A great river sluice.
Matting was made from a rubber floor matting it had a diamond patter on it. Each diamond hole made a vortex as the water flowed straight over it. Big slick plate and this matting caught all sizes of gold.
Maybe a quick Google Search might help out.
Sorry no photo but I hope this helps.

That is what I am thinking. It was rubber matting.
As usual, I have seen the sluices but for the life of me
can not recall the pattern.

The rubber matting sat in a recessed catch area the same diameter as the mat (about 150mm x 150mm). The mats top was then level with slick plate. Gravel then flowed over the diamond holes and blonde gravel out the end of the sluice.
Last time I saw this interlocking rubber matting was on a laboratory floor. Most mats have round holes these days.

Bread Crate with a bit of V matting under it will do the trick mate. There around the same height but it is very hard to get the original rubber type matting now.

Thanks James, I was thinking Bread crate. :) :)
Should do the trick I would say.
I actually have a mat here the same as you use.
It is being re-purposed in my banker. LOL

All is not what meets the eye with the mat i got mate, i will have to show you how to tickle them up a bit. ;)
