Excellent button and great history :Y: , i have a few buttons that i should research to. I enjoy detecting buttons as they are usually identifiable and complete :Y:

Funny, but I was only just talking about finding old buttons today of an owner of 1200 acres on Maitland Bar today!
Had a laugh about how they pop up everywhere on gold fields. And put it down to so much fighting over claims back then!
Makes you wonder how many front teeth you would find if your detector could pick them up. Pitty there weren't so many gold fillings! Haha

Yeah it always starts me thinking... how did it fall off, was it the owner of the jacket or had it been passed on or nicked, had they travelled here from overseas, did they leave a family behind, did they find their fortune...?

Even the history of a penny changing hands.... bread, beer, flour, salt, tobacco, gambling, possum stew, 5 minutes of fun upstairs at the local! If only it could talk!
