Hi Guys! :)

So this is all new to me and I'm really hoping to get some helpful advice! :)
My family and I absolutely LOVE fossicking, I've always been into gems so being able to Fossick with my family is great! We live in the Snowy Mountains area and I'm wondering if anyone on here can share any spots for us to go? We are just beginners and really need advice on where to go! We general explore through the Forests and find water ways we can try our luck in! We recently had a trip to Tingha NSW and managed to fit some Fossicking into our trip and found some great stuff! Unfortunately after finding stuff there, what we're finding here isn't too exciting for us although we still love just being able to Fossick. Please please if anyone has useful info for us that would be amazing! :D :D

Thanks in advance!

Yours Sincerely,
A wife/mother obsessed with fossicking! :D :D

Just be patient they will get back to you as they come online

Top left of the screen there is a magnifying glass that is the search area
Type what you are looking for and lots will come up

Every time you pass a creek or river you will be thinking what gems are in there sapphires diamonds

Oh trust me I already do that! Every time we drive somewhere I always mention to my husband! My kids are also hooked they absolutely love it! :D

When you get 10 posts up it will open the members area
There are members meet ups so you never know one might be in your area

Tumut is in the center

Im not too worried about gold hunting as such, more into finding gems. Thats a great map though, I will definitely refer back to that on the odd occasions we go gold panning!
Thank you! :) :Y:

You can get minerals data for NSW on Google Earth here (free):
http://dwh.minerals.nsw.gov.au/CI/warehouse
You can select various minerals including gold & gemstones.
Gold under Metallic Commodities
Gemstones under Metallic & Industrial Deposits
There's a heap of other useable info on there as well.
P.s. best areas appear to be around Gundagai & Tumbarumba. You would need to investigate land access etc.
