I understand anything of a political nature is taboo here,....but I have just lost access to my favourite weather app ( earth.nullschool.net ). It is just a blank black page when I try and load it. If anyone on here that uses it has the same issue, can they please confirm that it’s not just my hardware.
The reason I mentioned politics is because the Trump administration has just cut thousands of jobs to the U.S. agency for global weather forecasting, hurricane prediction and many other services vital to public safety ( NOAA ).
Much of the data for earth.nullschool.net is downloaded directly from NOAA’s servers, so I suspect this is the reason the website is affected.
As this is an issue that can personally affect people’s reliance on accurate weather knowledge, I hope the mods will make an exception to the political reference in this post. After all, we are living in exceptional political times. We need to know how decisions made by a U.S. government can have far reaching ramifications.....

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is the U.S. agency responsible for global weather forecasting, hurricane prediction, ocean observation, and many other services vital to public safety. Its satellites, supercomputers, and research teams provide essential data that help us understand our planet and protect lives.

On February 27, the new U.S. administration initiated mass firings at NOAA. These actions are unethical and deeply disruptive to the talented scientists and engineers who dedicate themselves to the public good. The firings, along with expected budget cuts, have serious implications for the availability and quality of weather forecasts produced by the United States. They must be reversed immediately.
