Family History Project - Kearney

Hi all,

I'm looking for some assistance in writing a history of the Kearney family in Australia. I know my great grandfather applied for a gold lease at Nana Creek in the 1880's but I don't know if he ever worked.

Would anyone be able to assist in tracing any Kearney activity in the Nana Creek area would be most appreciated. Sam also operated a general store and outpost at Nana Creek for a few years in the 1880's.

Any help or hints would be great appreciated.

Maybe i can help but first in what state or territory of Oz is Nana creek ??

Hey casper, I just googled Nana Creek and there is Nana Creek and Nana Glen west of Coffs Harbour in NSW. Don't know if this is the one or if its even in a gold area but I think there was gold out west from Coffs Harbour. Might help with research if this is the correct Nana.

Heres a link to a Catherine Kearney born about 1893 at Sofala, Married about 1913 at Dubbo, died about 1962 at Bankstown Sydney. I googled Nana Creek NSW Kearney family. Try it and see what you can find. By the way, that info was found under the heading "[PDF]The Curly Headed Gin: The Diana Mudgee Story ".
