Just got my first detector yesterday as a gift from my partner. So now a proud owner of a minelab x-terra 705. With no idea where to use this thing in the Brisbane area.
Would love some help on a good location to start off with.

Thanks

Virtually any public space you can. Nothing substitutes for time on your machine. Each is different and using it is the best way to get the most from it, then when you have specific questions the guys on the forum will help. Search for posts related to your brand of detector and read them all. They will help you a lot as well.

Welcome, maybe start in your backyard, throw some coins around and start learning the tones and numbers, just remember a coin on it's edge will read different to a flat one, Happy hunting ;)
