Anyone tried this? I have an area, lots of gold found close by, 10m , but it is extremely junky ground, sooo much scrap iron. Was thinking of putting on the 11" did, do I just flick the toggle to dd, select iron discriminate on, and go for it? Do I need to flick the toggle to cancel?

You'll only need cancel if you have extreme EMI, keep the switch on the DD setting unless you want to use psuedo mono. DD coils are way under rated by most.

Don't need to flick to cancel. To use the discriminator function you just to use a DD coil and switch to Double D best start with a low number. Check the Minelab site for the online Manual.

Dave the disc on 4000 ,4500 and 5000 leave a lot to be desired you just have to be on the target before it cuts in . I have been trying many detectors over the years for that purpose ,working in junk looking for gold ,a VLF detector may be a good option.
There is another thing that's worth a go on the 4500 run it in cancel take it out of enhanced , audio in boost, bring the gain up, do not run the disc to high 4 or 5 may be max regards john how's the trailer coming along :)

Havnt done anything to trailer since the water pipe, funds required else where, sand filter for the pool, and about 6 gold less day trips eating at $ drought! Got to get lucky shortly, will muck around with dd, and try a few tricks. Also looking at new ground on sat, will run the 15" spoke.

Been thinking the same thing. I did try my Commander 11" DD with iron rejection but I didn't last long. Just switch to DD and select iron reject, but not too aggressive. The continual blanking was driving me nuts. Plus tested my DD Commander 11" and wasnt impressed with depth.
Have been thinking about getting a Detech 15" DD Spiral as I have a few spots I like and have been finding some gold but also digging deep bolts and nails. The trash isn't too intense so figure I'd run no iron reject but when needed switch over to check the signal. Thinking it will save me digging fuggets. I believe the Detech 15" DD Spiral is just as sensitive as the NF 15" Evo mono. However wouldn't want to be doing it in a heavily trashie spot. Been chatting with Nenad and he suggested a small DD, say 8", for heavily trashed areas. I'm still deciding what to do.
In my opinion, no easy answer. It's all a compromise. Good luck.
