Hello all , has any one had a equinox 800 running the 6 inch coil to detect real fine gold ? On bedrock , or in the mineralized mellow that sits on the bed rock , cant decide either to buy the monster or equinox 800 will be using in hot ground rushworth , :D any help would be great , not going to swing conventional methods , manly to pick up gold on bedrock

GM will cover more ground. The more benign the soil the closer the two get, but the 800 falls away quickly as the ground gets hotter.

That said even the GM can be hard to use, places like Specimen Hill or Main gully where the bedrock is exposed arent so bad, but be prepared to dig a lot of targets before gold will show up.

In 6 months (Autumn/winter) returned 570g leadshot to 9g subgrammers using detectors.

With the 800 the target id is hit and miss.

The closer to town the worse the emi can be.

Good luck.

Some one posted a picture on the forum by memory of a cut down GM he runs for bedrock hunting. If any one remembers it?
