Would like to know. If you have a GPX4500 & a SDC2300 going over the same area, which would you run over the ground first?

I would go over with either machine and just mark up the targets first then you can check with the other machine. this will give you a good understanding of the different performance of both and the more you know about each machine the more gold you will find. this approach will also help you read the ground, shallow v deep.

I don't have a 4500 but there are shallow areas where i've found quite a bit of gold with the sdc and a bit deeper at times where i'd love to go back over with something that punches a bit deeper. So i'd go sdc on shallow first and then work back with the 4500 and do the outer edges edges as well with the 4500.

Not that i have either detector , if i did i would use the 4500 as they will punch deep as well as grab a lot of the smaller stuff as well . The sdc can then clean up the dregs . To put it another way , get the bigger most valuable bits first before someone else does then worry about the left overs.

Scrounger. Would be happy to loan you my 4500 for a few weeks to check out your SDC patches.
When you get back on your feet BW we'll have to catch up on one spot in particular where i reckon there is some slightly deeper stuff hiding. Thanks for the offer of your 4500 though mate, bit too advanced for me. I really am stuck in the 'turn it on and go' level   Once there's more than one or two options i need to sit down and have a rest due to the stress

Aarragh, but you're a top dude matie. I is a technology clutz, and me 4500 doesn have that many options so it would be seems to me. Me settings arrrrre perdy much harredy-wired for the wildernesses that I detect (hic) in the GT. The only thing that I change are gneraly: Rx Gain, Stabilizer, Rum and Bourbon settings (that would be after hurs o course). Is after hurrs now :D
