Confused begginer

Hi all, I've finaaly got into chasing gold, i'm in NSW, i'm a bit confused about the wording of the regs, i hear ppl talking about hard rock mining and such but its worded in the regs that ther is to be no damage or removal of bushrock, so if by some miracle i found a vein, does this mean i cant start hacking into the quarts or take anything to crush?

any advise would be greatly appreciated as i've just spent a ton of money on a detector and sluice.

Welcome camco828, number 1, gold prospecting is like fishing, doesn't matter what gear you have, it all about luck. Don't think you will make money out of it, do the research and research, home work again , then it's about luck again. You will spend thousands of hours with no return, that's why it's call prospecting. Good luck.

Theres limits on the amount of material you can take from a site per day and only use hand tools, im sure if you find a gold vein and only chipped out the good stuff by hand you will be ok .
