Throughout the Coorong in SA there are remains of wells and limestone cuttings created by the Chinese on their journey to the goldfields.

They were mostly heading for Bendigo, although went to many goldfields - they discovered Ararat (Canton lead) on the way and managed to work it for 6 months before the Europeans realized.
