Mate that's a wind up, that article is written by some SOB who love to stir $%&, There is now way would anyone get away with exporting Ancient finds from the UK and If detectorists caught them on protected sites over here He would eating his dinner through a Straw,

Detecting In Syria, I think not, because even trying to get a Detector in to some of the Gulf Countries is equals jail Time, Negotiating with IS is Ok as long as you don't Loose ya Head lololol

Finding Ancient treasures is almost an impossibility over there because of the sand build up over 7000 years, most likely you will find a lot of WW II land and Tank Mines and A few Modern Mines too. and maybe the odd Arms Cache's but that's about it.

Chicago Ron plans a trip to Syria to try and detect some ancient relics, to do this he has organised the "get together" with ISIS..........
WTF!, last I checked ISIS was a terrorist group,
So in the article Ramjet posted ISIS has taken full credit for organising the planned dig/detect, AND take a percentage of the cut,
once again WTF,

Any Article posted on their Links is a Wind up, If you go to the bottom of the page it says the word Satire, That site is taken it upon it's self to try and put the $%&'s up detectorists mainly in the UK because some Arkie type Greenies failed to get detecting banned, So their Goal is to windup or spread Rumours and to try and cause trouble within the detecting community, because they Can't be bothered to get off their backsides and go Detecting or do something their selves and they don't have the drive to become an Archaeologist So what they are doing is trying to set the Two Passionate and Dedicated parties against each other and once the fire is Started they just fan the Flames and sit back and enjoy the Trouble they cause, you will notice there are no contact details So they can not be traced and most of all they can't be challenged,

The rest of what I think or what I would like to happen I won't put in print, But One thing for Sure posting this Garbage does not help and does more damage than Enough,

This is no Reflection on RJ because unless your know what goes on over here then a person would never know, People have been arrested for detecting on Land where they have had written permission from the land Owner and have had their finds taken away and their detectors based just on hear say and Lie's,

We have had Archaeologists Covering Sites with washers just to Ruin them for detectorists and they have even posted them on TV doing it and that is illegal yet they did not get arrested, and when some one does make an important find it has taken over 18 months to be given the reward/ cash for the Item, Yet the museums have had the items on display within week of getting their hands on them yet they do not own the items yet, The whole process is supposed to take 2 or 3 months or there abouts.

Imagine for a second if the OZ government took every spec of your Gold and got it tested to see which are it came from in case you might of got it from one of the big companies claims and making you wait for 2 years before you can reap the reward and lets face it the big companies do what ever they can to make life hard for you as it is, whether it's doing deals with the government and buying up claims putting them out of reach of the common man, well that's just part of it,

Over here they wanted to charge us 20.00 to detect on a beach that's about $45.00 and that was for only one beach, and they were going to try and charge that for every beach you detected on so if you detected on 50 beaches that would cost you 1000 or about $2500 per year, and blokes like this guy who writes this crap do no good at all.

It's not your Fault mate, these articles are well written and they even had me fooled and I live here, and I got extremely wound up at first, and you have to be here to know what it what, plus the British government are jumping on anyone who tries to go to Syria,
