This week I decided to check out some sites at Kandanga. This is a small town in the Mary valley which would have been partially flooded if the travers ton dam had gone ahead. Checked out the old railway station and around the swimming pool and football field with only some scrap metal found I did find what appeared to be the heads of lead roofing nails which appeared unused. I left the free camping area alone as there were too many people camped there and discretion is the better part of valour. Off to rainbow beach on Saturday for a try
