Some years back I was engaged to concrete an historic cellar floor room on an old stone building on the Darling Downs. Task was to dig out about .200mm of soil and mud from an old cellar under the building. One day while having smoko the owner asked if I found any gold yet as it was stored in the cellar around 100 years back.
Strangle enough, a few hours later when shoveling dirt into the wheelbarrow a large object landed into the barrow. I lifted it out and it was the size of a molded gold bar. I quickly got the cordless drill out and drilled a hole in it but it was lead. I now have it as a door stop. Should have detected the area first.
