Canberra > Brisbane route advice

Planning a trip to Qld just after Christmas to do some detecting out west of Bundaberg with my brother, and would like to avoid the Pacific Highway madness.

Any comments on this route to Brisbane would be appreciated.

CBR-Goulburn-Oberon-Tarana-Portland-(via Bylong Valley Way)-Rylstone-Denman-Muswellbrook-Tamworth-Tenterfield-Warwick-BNE

I grew up in Bundy so I've got that part of the route covered, just not clear on the NSW parts

I see you're in Mt Perry, we will probably be heading out that way for a visit to a couple of old mines enroute to the Paradise goldfields.

No probs mate,where are the paradise goldfields from Mt Perry?

They are out near Biggenden mate, right next to (and partly under) the new Paradise Dam.

We spent a few days camping out there over Easter, and keen to get back out there with the Garrett for a poke around.

Also keen for another visit to the Mt Perry area with the detectors, including a look around this one we found just off the Gin Gin - Mt Perry Rd.

I've got family up there and usually visit a couple of times a year, so next time mate.

If you know any good spots around Mt Perry, I'd be keen to hear. Happy to share our findings too of course.

Just my thoughts mate seems a shame to go past good fossicking areas.

Thanks mate, that sounds like the beginnings of a good plan for on the way back....
