Budding Geolgist

Hello

My daughter and I are looking to bond by going on some fossicking trips together . she is in her final year of Geology at Monash and I am used to digging up earth with my work background of Civil Engineering...she has done research for places through Geovic maps but I am looking for ideas on purchasing one medium to pro level metal detector and one medium entry metal detector.

G'day Auswater and daughter, go for the best u can, both Minelab 5000 and the new Garret APX have good reports on finding the yellow stuff, bit of research and knowledge of ground will go long way, sounds like u have most of that covered, best of luck, Scrubby 52

Thanks Loamer...sorry for late replies....I actually purchased a GPX5000 from California...don't ask why but I can assure you it was worth the wait coming in..Have been up in Bendigo getting trained last few days by Peter from Bendigo Gold.. Scrubby 52 I am taking my Geologist daughter up to Newstead to look at a mates property that has been in family for 35 years...might have to do a little detecting.
