If anybody is looking for 20l buckets I noticed black plastic 20l buckets for sale in K mart for $5 each. Don't think they came with a lid, but still pretty cheap I thought. :)

Yeah I saw them aswell! Cheep and I think with a lid.

Black plastic ones' doesn't mean there stronger tho...

Woodend. Vic.
They are paint buckets have been well cleaned though... I can grab lids and snap rings too.
I have one with 10mm holes drilled in bottom for classifying. Works a treat!

I love the flexitubs, at 26l or 42l they stack well and are great takeaway tubs as I can stack two high with 4/5 full of dirt in the back of the truck. At between $4 and $5 ea, the occasional handle breakage is frustrating but represents good overall value.

The 26l also holds the green topsoil sieves perfectly for classifying dry sandy gold/sapphire bearing soil. The 42l holds a large fine metal sieve for classifying powdery sapphire wash and is a great size for filling with water and panning or sapphire sieving in my backyard.

Once finished all my sieves\pans fit sideways into the tubs for storage.

No need to drill holes. Ag Man started a great topic on bucket sieves. Great idea. Make them with any size mesh and you can knock out the mesh and replace it as needed. I have 3 sizes. There is also a video if you scroll down.
