Best way to sell jewellery?

Hi all

I didn't know if there was an existing thread for this but I wanted to ask how I should go about selling jewellery for the best price.
I have some jewellery that was given to me by my girlfriends mother to sell so I can raise funds to buy a metal detector but I'm not sure how to go about it.
I have some 9K gold earrings, 18 k white gold ring and pendant, 9k gold ring, 18 karat gold earrings, sterling silver pendants and chains. (Most of this is from a divorce so she just wants it all gone)
Would I probably get the best price trying to sell them on gumtree or should I go to a gold/silver dealer? If I can go to a gold/silver dealer how close would it be to the spot price on the day.
Basically I wanna see what people do with their finds.

There is a place in sydney that buys it
from what i have heard they are fair well as fair as anywhere else the link is not on this comp but on my home one
Also as ramjet said list them on ebay or gumtree but to do that you would be better getting the value of them first then that sometimes costs as well but at least you will know what to list them for

Mate easiest way is take to a reputable gold buyer, you have quite a few in Sydney. Do a bit of research before you go for pricing but 9ct will be around $15 a gram 18ct $30 and so on and they will pay cash. I have sold all the gold jewellery I have found on ebay as you can get a bit more through auction bidding but I have sold a lot on ebay with a lot of feedback so that helps.

Hahaha yeah here are some of the ones i mentioned, I thought i'd mention where I got them just in case

And 7.62marksman if you could let me know that'd be great. Right now i'm posting them up on gumtree for prices I think are fair but If they don't sell I can go to a place that will buy.
