Have done a little bit of research on few detectors and was wondering which would be best in the Pilbara WA. A Vlf detector or pulse detector. Roughly want to spend around the $1200 mark.

Hi dicko If you want to find gold pulse is the way to go ,VLF will find gold but it has to be close to the surface .I have used both vlf and pulse in WA over the years and there is no way I would detect there with a vlf these days and expect good results .I have detected spots from Kal to Tom price, for the money you should get a sd2200 or if your lucky a gp extreme minelab is the way to go just look at what has been finding the gold over the years, they are a proven a item regards john :)

I have a, TDI pro oz PI machine for, sale with 2 coils, and 2 battery packs, $1200 is less than I have advertised, but would consider selling for that if you are interested.

Personally I would save up a bit longer and get the best PI you can afford, over getting a VLF. I am sure most people would agree with that.
