I have been reading the forums for some time now and have found them very useful.

I thought Id sign up and become a part of the community as I feel like I have read so much material I practically know everyone already.

I have really picked this up in the past year however I have been into geology most my life.

I am going up this weekend to either Grabben Gullen or Oberon area.

Hope it turns out.

Hey if anyone can help me,

I am very confused,

Take Turon for example - I don't understand what makes a public fossicking area - or district or place where you are allowed to go and fossick?

I see all the vids online with people just walking on "public land"

I have looked countless sites and gov deps looked on six viewer.

I must be missing something basic.

Is it crown land that does not have a leased title or what?

I understand the whole state forest thing but I am at a total loss to other areas.
