New member from Bathurst , only found 0.2 grams of gold so far using classifying technique and panning.

I have a river sluice I made 190mm wide with larger mouth at the top, I now use this instead of panning every single bit of dirt and pleased to say it catches the fine specks of gold.

Bread tray lower section and screen door for the top riffles, I am currently building a high banker at the moment.

Welcome Bathurstgold,

With your location you could just about pan the dirt in your backyard and find gold!

You have a massive amount of options to explore all with day trips!

Good luck and any photos always make the story of an outing,

Cheers

I wish that was the case , would make the travel a lot easier but I have found some good places out sunny corner which seem less touched then most places around here .

I do own a property with a flowing river on it but have yet to test the ground for gold, there is quartz in the field but I doubt its rich gold ground.

Test it!

Hi, I just bought a shop in bathurst we take over next year, and moving to black springs in the vulcan state, can't wait for our new life, it would be good to meet some locals some day

Hi Bathurstgold,
Welcome to the forum. Ive done a little prospecting up around your way but only new to the game of "find that yello". Was up that way thursday friday before long weekend but had the brains to get outta there before the tourists arrived. We tested a creek that runs off Pyramul Creek and found a few specks here and there, averaged about 5-12 specks a pan. Looking forward to catching up one day when im up that way. Good luck prospecting.

Cracka.

Hi and welcome aboard :) Bathurst is a great place and very close to some very good gold country I always have good results at turondale and have always found colour over towards root hog .. and Mt kilumbutta .. I have a family friend that used to have an alluvial and hard rock lease at sunny corner they only stopped cause gold dropped in the eighties but the old maps say there's good gold there . If you get to stuck let me know n I'll show u a few good spots close by ;-)
