Hi All,

I've been on the forum for a while now and decided that it was about time that I introduced myself. My name is Philip and I'm near Ballarat, VIC. I have been fossicking on and off for about 10 years now, more off than on these days though due to having very young children around. They haven't found anything for me yet.... I probably should look into upgrading them from a plastic plate taped to a stick though to increase their chances :)
I have a Minelab X-Terra 705 and GPX4500, a number of pans, a diamond saw and a home made 6x 8" lapidary cabbing machine. Over the years I have found a couple of nuggets in the GT, nothing amounting to too much but it gets me out of the office/house for a few hours. I enjoy going for a pan and if I can ever find the time I am contemplating building a Wal-banker just for the fun of it (I've been watching Wal'n'Liz vids and posts for a long time). Other than searching for gold, I can usually be found out and about on the NSW and QLD opal fields and this year I am very excited to be going to Minerama. If anyone is going and want to say hi, please do, I'll be there on my own as the little ones are far too young to be left to their own devices around

the creeks, etc.

Regards
Philip

Welcome Phil_In_Boots.....sounds like you have a good bit of kit together, just make the time to get out and use it.

Look forward to your recounts of your adventures...

Cheers
