Australia's 50 cent coin 'likely to undergo redesign'

It's finally dawned on the Mint that the 50c is inconveniently big and clunky:

Yes,.. and we all know that the new $5 coins should be tiny like the thrippy and the 50c coin should be aGoldie as well, and a bit bigger then the $1 coin(just to go with that bigger smaller denominational theme they got going on down there at the aussie mint).
Looking forward to be able to find reasonably priced small coins all over the place for the next twenty or so years at least.

I hope the Australian mint reads this thread before they get too far down the designer stage track,... one could only hope that they are open enough down there at the mint to see reason.
